Classroom technology: TurningPoint (‘clickers’)
Clickers are wireless responders that you can use to actively engage students during lectures. They allow you to solicit answers from all students in your class, quickly assess their grasp of new course content (e.g. pre- and post-teaching of a concept), and even conduct quizzes. The software can also store a record of student responses that you can access and analyze later.
Many students find that using clickers increases their enjoyment and learning within lectures.

Clickers and mobile devices can be used together in the same class.
Students can purchase their ResponseCard, or an access code for their mobile device, from the university bookstore. There is no need to purchase more than one per student; the same ResponseCard can be used for any class the student takes that uses TurningPoint, and it is also good from year to year. However, an active license is required for all students.
Instructors can pick up a trial receiver and a response card from the Software & Application Support Centre (SAS), if they wish to try out TurningPoint in the classroom.
To begin teaching with clickers, please contact the SAS, at email@example.com, for an introduction to clickers, ongoing support, and to begin the order process for permanent use equipment.
To request a consultation with an educational developer on how to integrate clickers into your teaching, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
