The Oland Brewing Company has a long history in Nova Scotia, dating back to 1867 when Oland & Son Limited was founded by Sir Francis deWinton and John Oland. Oland bought out his partner’s interest, and the brewery stayed in the Oland Family until its sale to John Labatt Limited in 1971.

Today the company bottles around 18 million bottles of beer a year, many of them from their famous brewery (pictured here) in the North End of Halifax.
