This Japanese Government scholarship is intended for students who are currently undergraduates at a foreign (non-Japanese) university majoring in fields related to Japanese language and/or Japanese culture.

The deadline for submitting applications is 5:00 p.m. EST, Tuesday, February 8, 2022.

SMU students who recieve the MEXT scholarship study at one of our partner schools in Japan. Credits are transfered back to a SMU transcript using the Letter of Permission process.
