The Copyright@SMU Webinar Series- Open Educational Resources

The Copyright Office is hosting a series of webinars for faculty throughout July, focusing on copyright concerns in the classroom, and solutions offered by SMU resources and services available online.

The first is on Friday, July 3rd, at 2 pm via Microsoft Teams, and focuses on Open Educational Resources (OERs): what they are, why they matter, and what kinds of supports are available for faculty looking to get involved with using, adapting, or creating OERs.

Presenters include Cynthia Holt, Manager of the Council of Atlantic University Libraries (CAUL-CBUA), who will talk about the OER repository for Atlantic Canada; SMUSA President Bryn de Chastelain, discussing the student perspective on OERs; Stefani Woods from the Studio for Teaching & Learning, on how they are encountering and engaging with OERs in the Studio; and an overview of OERs and available resources by copyright specialists Amy Lorencz & Patricia Langille from the Patrick Power Library.

The presentation will be followed by a Q&A, so bring your questions!
