This framework, created by the Post Secondary Accessibility Working Group through the Council of Nova Scotia University Presidents and the Nova Scotia Community College, is to be operationalized by provincial post-secondary institutions through the implementation of accessibility plans.

Accessibility Advisory Board and Education Standard Development Committee

These comprehensive recommendations, developed by the Education Standard Development Committee and approved by the Accessibility Advisory Board, propose an accessibility standard in education, emphasizing the crucial role of inclusivity in adapting to societal changes. Recognizing education as a human right, the document outlines the necessity of eliminating both structural and systemic barriers to ensure equal access for all. This proposal contributes to the ongoing efforts for a more inclusive, equitable, and accessible education system across seven sectors, ranging from early years to adult learning, adhering to the principles of the Nova Scotia Accessibility Act. These recommendations amplify existing legislation and build upon current governmental policy and framework documents.
