Media Suite

The Media Suite provides digital production services for faculty and staff creating multimedia materials for use in their courses, as well as multimedia assitance to students working on academic projects. Such multimedia projects include:

The creation of introductory videos
Production of audio podcasts
Conversion of video presentations
Advertising for online courses
Animated banners
The creation of fully interactive, multimedia presentations

The Software & Application Support Centre (SAS) staff are available to provide assistance to individuals during reguals hours, in the Media Suite or elsewhere on campus.

Facilities and Services

Video recording/editing
Audio recording including for podcasting
Digital video file conversion from one format (e.g. AVI, FLV, MOV, MPEG, VOB, etc.) to another
Real-time digitization of VHS tapes
Digital audio file conversion from one format (MP3, WAV, DSS, WMA, AIFF, etc.) to another.
Screencasting (with/without audio)
Video/audio Conferencing for the purpose of podcasting
Lightboard recording (pending)

Training

We offer training, either individually or in small groups, by appointment.

Loaning of equipment is not permitted from the Media Suite.

Media Suite Booking

In-person sessions in the Media Suite are available on Tuesday and Thursdays, by request only. No Walk-ins permitted. To book a session in the Media Suite, contact Jay Williams jay.williams@smu.ca.
