POSTPONED: Basics of Open Access (OA) Educational Resources

Please note: This event has been postponed. A new date will be announced soon.

What does it mean when something is Open Access (OA)? Is it the same or different than a textbook that is an Open Educational Resource (OER)? What about Open Data, Open Pedagogy? Open is an increasing trend in scholarship and academia but not without its concerns and confusions. In this session we will help you navigate what it means to be Open, how Creative Commons licenses come in to play (and how to understand their symbols), as well as areas that need extra consideration before they are made open. This is a presentation by:

Amy Lorencz, MLIS – Metadata & Copyright Librarian
Patricia Langille
, MA – Copyright Assistant
Jennifer Webb
, BEd MITE - Educational Developer, Learning Experience
