Learning from Each Other: Reflections at the Crossroads

2022 Teaching and Learning Symposium

Learning from Each Other: Reflections at the Crossroads

February 22, 2022 | 10:00 am to 11:30 am | Online via Zoom

In recognition of this year’s theme of reflection, the 2022 Teaching and Learning Symposium aims to foster deep and engaged discussion on the faculty experience of navigating the continually shifting modes of course delivery. Taking an opportunity to reflect on where we find ourselves within the ever-evolving experiences over the recent academic terms seems both critical and timely. Combining principles from two structured conversational processes, Story Circles and Knowledge Café, the session will create a discursive space to share, exchange, reflect and learn from our collective and unique experiences. During the session participants will select one of the story circle groups they wish to join, as follows:

Topic / Circle A: During these past two years, how have you experienced challenges in teaching and supporting learning? What is your experience of resilience during this time?

Topic / Circle B. How has adaptability informed your recent approach to teaching and the support of learning? How has this need to continuously adapt affected your ongoing practice?

Topic / Circle C. What has been your experience with respect to addressing the growing imperatives for accessibility and/or inclusion in the way you teach your courses?   Looking ahead, what challenges and/or opportunities do you anticipate in this regard?

You will be asked to register for a specific Topic / Circle at the beginning of the session.

Looking forward to seeing you all!
