Navigate Classlist
There are different ways to look for a student in the course the classlist. Depending what information you are looking for there are different ways to locate a student in the classlist.
To search for an individual student, You can type students name or A number in the search bar and hit enter.
- From the top navigation panel, go to Course Tools > Classlist.
- Click on the drop-down menu for View By, select Groups/Sections. Then click on Apply.
- You may select a Group category, or a specific Group, from the Groups drop-down menu or specific sections from the Sections dropdown. Then click Apply, again, to customize your list.
- Click on Show Search Options beside search bar.
- Check the option Role, select Groups/Sections. and from the dropdown, select the role you want to search for.
- Click on Show Search Options beside search bar.
- Set the Start Date and End Date.
In this way you can check if a student opened a course in between a certain time
- Click on Show Search Options beside search bar.
- Check the option Users with Accommodations under Accommodation.
Email Students from Brightspace
You have the option to Email students directly from Brightspace. You can Email you whole class at once or you can Email individual student(s).
- From the top navigation panel, go to Course Tools > Classlist.
- Click on Email Classlist, A new page titled Email Classlist will open.
- Click on Send Email
- All the Email address will be added automatically under bcc. Format your Email and click on Send
- From the top navigation panel, go to Course Tools > Classlist.
- Select the checkbox beside the student(s) you want to Email.
- From the top of the students list, click on Email .
- Students’ Email addresses will be automatically added under bcc. Format your Email and click on Send
