Faculty Discussion Series | Fall 2021 session
Teaching During the Pandemic: Reflections and Lesson Learned
Unilever Lounge (SB 422) and Online via Zoom
1:00 pm to 2:00 pm (with additional time for discussion)
This semester has seen the university community return to campus. While in-person teaching has resumed, many faculty continue (or plan) to deliver digitally mediated courses (via remote, online, hybrid or dual-mode delivery). Many remain touched -- in various ways -- by our experiences of the past 18 months. These experiences have granted us insights about our students, ourselves, and about the process of teaching via digital platforms. For many faculty, teaching in a virtual environment has afforded new approaches or strategies that may continue to shape their teaching practice.
An oft-repeated expression is that there will be no return to normal after the current pandemic. While we make this transition to whatever the ‘new normal’ is, this speaker and discussion series will provide an opportunity to pause and reflect on what we have learned so far.
This first session will bring together a small group of faculty members who will join in conversation with the session moderator. There will also be opportunity for participants to add to the conversation by sharing their insights and lessons learned. This session will be an hour in length with the option to extend, if needed, to allow for additional discussion.
