What is Jump Start?

Jump Start is a five-day series of academic workshops, webinars, and digital resources that provides students an introduction to learning in an online, virtual university - for all incoming Saint Mary’s students.

What will I learn?

• Practice thinking about and writing a variety of undergraduate assignments

• Be introduced to SMU’s virtual, online learning environment

• Experience an online classroom lecture with a SMU professor

• Meet with other in-coming SMU students

• Learn about SMU’s academic and technology supports

• Meet and work with professional academic writing tutors

• Learn how to use SMU’s online learning apps to be prepared for September

• Gain important resources that will help you throughout your university studies

• Have a round-table discussion with SMU faculty
