Drawing from a range of Universal design for learning (UDL) guidelines this session will explore specific ways your Brightspace course (or digital learning platform) can be set-up to support students maintain focus and engagement and meet your course expectations. While these approaches support all students, they particularly help neurodiverse students.
Learner navigation strategies to minimize strain on working memory, including
Chunking and sequence course content to
Assessment and deadlines — alignment, learner navigation and transparency
Using alternative assessments to support efficacy and expectancy factors
This topic spotlight will review several strategies associated with supporting students learning in general, particularly those who are neurodiverse.
