The Writing Centre is hosting an exciting opportunity for graduate and honours students to work on their thesis and research projects.
In this Writing Centre workshop, graduate and honours students will learn all they need to know about constructing an academic argument and communicating it effectively to an audience of non-specialists. Through a combination of presentations and individual writing sessions, students will practice how to identify, formulate and structure a longer academic argument like their graduate thesis as well as how to ask questions to engage meaningfully in academic discussion and provide focused and constructive feedback.
The boot camp provides:
Four 90-minute blocks of instruction and individual writing
Individual check-ins with graduate writing tutors
Academic writing resources & raffle prizes for participation
For students looking to jumpstart their thesis writing or sprint to the finish line, the boot camp offers a chance to work with accountability, camaraderie, and minimal distraction. There is a $10 registration fee to cover snacks, coffee, and tea.
