Are you interested in Brazilian art, music, theatre, literature, cultural perspective, history, biodiversity, foreign policy, digital culture, indigenous communities, sustainability, or in political economy of environment and development in the Amazonian context? Here is your chance to learn virtually from professors who are experts in respective areas.

 

Courses are open to students, faculty and staff and are free of charge unless you are a student seeking transfer credits.

 

Choose from over 100 courses taught in English, Spanish, French, or Portuguese in the following subject areas:

  • Arts, Culture, Literature and Society

  • Business, Economics and Management

  • Biology, Chemistry, and Physics

  • Health Science

  • Social Science, Politics and Anthropology

  • Ecology, Environment and Biodiversity

  • Education

  • Engineering

  • Linguistic Studies

  • Portuguese as a Foreign or Additional Language

  • Sustainability

  • Multidisciplinary

 

Class hours vary from 2-60 hours depending on the course. See the course catalogue for more detail.

 

Dates: various dates from July to August 2021

 

Credits: If you are a student and want to take a course for credit, please contact your academic advisor to find out how many credit hours you can earn from the program and to learn how to complete the Letter of Permission Request Form. If you would like to take a course for your personal interest, no permission is required.

 

Costs:

SMU students pay their regular tuition to SMU for the transfer credit hours.

The course is otherwise free of charge for students, faculty and staff who are not seeking credits.
