Every year, the Government of Japan offers scholarships to foreign students who are interested in studying at a Japanese university. We invite you to read the points below to note the latest information about the Research Students and the Undergraduate Students MEXT Scholarships.
1. 2027 Research Students Scholarship
The 2027 Research Students Scholarship application cycle is now open. This scholarship is intended for students who have been born on or after April 2, 1992 and hold at least a bachelor’s degree, or the equivalent. Please note that the deadline for submitting applications is Friday, May 29, 2026.

2. 2027 Undergraduate Students Scholarship
The 2027 Undergraduate Students Scholarship application cycle is now open. This scholarship is intended for students born on or after April 2, 2002 and who have already completed or will have completed at least 12 years of education or a program the equivalent of Japanese Senior High School by March 2027. Please note that the deadline for submitting applications is Friday, May 29, 2026.
