ESSCA Ecole de Management is inviting Saint Mary’s students to participate in their Summer Programme 2024 in Hungary.
About ESSCA
Founded in 1909 in Angers, France, ESSCA is a grande école specializing in business offering a wide portfolio of programmes and degrees in management accessible immediately after the baccalauréat or secondary school.
Located at eight different sites including four campuses approved for non-French-speaking students in Angers, Paris, Budapest and Shanghai, ESSCA’s international curriculum can boast of an international partner network of over 279 institutions in more than 55 countries. It is the first post-secondary French school to have received the European EPAS accreditation for the excellence of its programs, its international scope and its strong links to the corporate world. ESSCA was accredited by AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) in May 2014.
ESSCA School of Management offers Summer Programmes for students who wish to make the most of their summer by discovering Europe in some of ESSCA’s study centers. These programs take place from mid-June to mid-July. They are intended for students in business or other disciplines and for those seeking to go international and discover new cultures.

Specific information for Budapest Summer Programme in Hungary:
Dates: June 24-July 19, 2024
Language of instruction: English
Target group: Graduate students in good academic standing.
Students choose one of the following pairings:
Pairing 1: “Business Management”
Human Centered Management and Leadership
Economic and Business Opportunities between Europe and Asia
Pairing 2: “International business and leadership”
International Marketing and Logistics
Self Leadership
Fees and costs:
SMU students pay SMU tuition at SMU via the banner account. The amount of SMU tuition is determined based on the number of transfer credit hours earned from the program. The host university will not charge a separate tuition fee.
Students will pay an organizational cost of 55euros (approx. CAD$80) to the host institution.
Students will also be responsible for housing, most meals, international/local travel, insurance, $100 study abroad admin fee and personal expenses.
The host institution will assist with accommodation search.

Immigration:
It is strongly recommended to start the visa application process as soon as students receive their acceptance letter so to avoid any delay. Questions related to immigration should be directed to the Embassy of Hungary in Ottawa.
Transfer credits:
Students may be able to earn credits to the extent that those credits are applicable to the program requirements of your SMU degree. Please meet with your academic advisor of your program to see if any of your remaining degree requirements can be completed at another university. If your advisor confirms that there is room for transfer credits in your degree, you will request approval to take courses for transfer credits by submitting a Letter of Permission Request Form (found here https://www.smu.ca/webfiles/LetterofPermission-FGSR(1).pdf) to the SMU Records Office as soon as your acceptance is confirmed.

In addition to the above, please have two letters of reference emailed to Global@smu.ca. At least one letter needs to be written by your Saint Mary’s course instructor.

What happens after you apply?
If you are selected, you will be nominated to the host university by the SMU Global Learning Office, and the rest of the pre-departure steps will be explained.
