Western Sydney University is running an International Virtual Fairs from 8 – 10 October 2020.

Whilst the fair is tailored for full-degree seeking students, we thought that some of your students might be able to find out more about Western Sydney University, degree offering when they consider their semester abroad program with us.

Learn more about how to apply for a  US$20,000 grant for a nine-month academic year. These all-discipline awards can be taken up at any college, university, think tank, or government agency in the United States.

The webinar will take place Oct 22- Thursday at 3 PM EST and focuses on the application process.

As part of our HerStart initiative, we've been working on an exciting new program to propel sustainable economic growth and social impact for women and their communities in Ghana, Tanzania and Uganda.

The goal for our HerStart Innovate the Future program is bold -- support 10,000 young women to become social entrepreneurs over the next 7 years. Through innovative partnerships with leading organizations and hands-on fellowships for Canadians we will harness young people's potential to shape a better future.

Here’s where we need you! As part of YCI's COVID-19 adaptation to support this program, we’ve launched new HerStart E-FellowshipsWe’re currently looking for skilled and passionate Canadian volunteers to share their skills part-time remotely.

Call for Research Participants: Canadian Government

The Canadian government will be launching a new outbound student mobility program which will support all Canadian students, with a focus on supporting low-income students, students with disabilities and indigenous students. To help shape the program, they are looking for participants in their public opinion research project.

More detail is found in the attached promotional flyer. Interested students are asked to complete this short online questionnaire to determine their eligibility. Students who qualify and participate in a session will receive an honorarium.

Upcoming Panel Discussions about Brazilian Society

PUC-Rio`s Central Coordination for International Cooperation would like to invite you to join University experts from different areas to discuss relevant topics related to the current Brazilian scenario.

There will be four panels on different topics about Brazilian Issues. Experts from different areas, such as Law, Sociology, Geography, Engineering, International Relations, Architecture, Communication and Political Science, will be together to discuss relevant topics to the current Brazilian scenario.

The first round of discussions will involve current themes being debated by PUC-Rio professors from different Departments. Sessions will be conducted in English and each panel will take approximately 50 minutes. The session will be a live one, allowing the interaction between panelists and audience previously enrolled.

Date: Live sessions every Thursday, (September 29, October 29, November 11), 3pm Rio de Janeiro time.

Virtual Exchange in Brazil, Fall 2020

Take Portuguese classes online from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro this fall!

Dates: August 25-December 11 2020

Courses offerings: Portuguese as a Foreign Language

Delivery: Zoom and Moodle platforms

Tuition: Tuition is payable to the host university. Portuguese Level I, II, and III (90 hours, R$ 9,816 or approx. CAD$2,472); Portuguese Level IV and V (60 hours, R$6,432 or approx. CAD$1,620)

Credits: Credits are transferrable as applicable to the student’s program requirements. Contact the academic advising office and ask about how to obtain approval via the Letter of Permission.

Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada Post-Graduate Research Scholars Program

Committed to fostering the next generation of Asia Pacific researchers and analysts, the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada offers up to four Post-Graduate Research Fellowships.

Successful applicants will have a background in Asia-related research in any relevant field and will be based on excellence and fit with the Foundation’s four main research priorities: Understanding Asia Now; Advancing Sustainability; Promoting Trade, Investment and Innovation; Building Skills and Competencies. Please note that grants are not intended to support dissertation research.
